It’s been over 30 years since the inception of Winterfest. What started with just two youth groups in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee has now evolved into numerous conferences in the U.S. and around the world.
We want to hear from you.
There are many stories and testimonies that have come out of these meetings where the power of God has moved and not only saved, but transformed lives. Please share with us what God has done
while at Winterfest and even thereafter.
I remember Winterfest when it was downtown Gatlinburg. (So I really just aged myself!!) One year the power of God was so strong in the Gatlinburg Convention center. We had a older lady who attended this paticular year, and she was not to fond of the contemporary music we teenagers listened too. I don’t remember who sang or who preached, but the power of God was so real in that arena. She found out that day that God can move during any kind of gospel music if we worship Him. Our youth group and groups around us were slain in the Spirit everywhere. They moved rows of chairs and everything. I remember seeing this same lady, standing on top of chairs praying for young people. God not only changed the lives of young people at this Winterfest, but of this lady from our church by showing her their are other ways to reach a generation. She attended several more Winterfest after this paticular year!! I have been attending Winterfest for at least 18 years. Just when you think it could not get any better, the next year comes along, and God WOWS us again!! Thank you God for pouring out your Spirit upon me as a teen, changing my life at Winterfest, and now the lives of the young people my husband and I work with on a weekly basis!! Thank you Winterfest committee and Church of God YCE dept for all your hard work in making this event possible!! We love you all! God has a great reward for you for following Him!!
When will you be posting the lineup for the 2012 Winterfest????
I was 35yrs old when I made my first trip to winterfest 4 years ago. God confirmed a call he put on my life that he gave me when I was 18. The following year my wife and I started working with the youth of our church. Every year since God has confirmed again. This past Sunday I preached in front of our church for the first time and at the end, the alter was full. I give credit to God nut want to thank everyone who has a part on planning this amazing event.
Just out of curiosity, why does it cost so much to attend? I have been to conferences, J-fest, and WinterJam that included many speakers, entertainment, and many many popular artists. I know that all that taken into consideration, just seems like a hefty price for something like this. Yet still I plan on attending, just may be rough on some who cant but would like to go.
